I DON'T FUCKING CARE HOW CAREFUL YOU WERE, I WILL HIT YOUR FACE SEVERAL TIMES WITH A SMALL ROCK IF YOU DARE DO IT AGAIN. I hate mall parking lots.

College parking lots are worse. You don't have a choice; most of the time, you have to let doors touch or you aren't getting back into your car.

This is why we join the "park away from everybody at the mall and Walmart" club. It is also good exercise.

This doesn't work here, there is no parking away. All the parking buildings are packed, always.

I parked in a private parking lot during college, bit expensive but my car was always safe. Plus, I always tipped the parking lot guard, so he would take special care of my little ZX.

That sucks. I don't know how you guys or many Europeans handle that sort of atmosphere. The sheer amount of space in the US makes me happy.

I'm in Brazil actually, and that sort of thing comes with large cities. I mean, there aren't many large open parking lots in manhattan right?

True. I do my best to never park in cities if I can avoid it, being a product of rural Virginia. In Chicago we have part of a covered garage or we usually just pay as much as we can to park as well as we can, but none of us live there full time now.

I would never get a new car before college (I'm graduated now). No one cares. Every vehicle I drive has/had door dings from college parking. My gf got a full blown dented fender. Scratches galore too.

Well, I have a nice squishy rub-strip on the ZR-1 that protects both my car and the dolts who park next to me, so I just gently let it touch. I don't have a choice, anyway, since it has detention points that make it swing out too far and I have to use both hands to exit my vehicle.

It's 25 years old and was $14,000. It's already been repainted once and I intend to give it a full restoration at some point in the future. I'd be pissed if it got dinged, but I'd also not be out all that much.
Life's too stressful already for me to worry about the car's well-being on a microscopic level. Worst comes to worst, it gets totalled and I get to buy another one with the insurance money, because the car is worth more than I bought it for. :)

My new car is still in the new phase for me so I'm still babying it.

I like to walk. I park in the boons, *especially* when the parking lines are single and narrow. My priority isn't protecting the car so much as not having to wait for Dork the Nose to backout in this century. Unless forced, I'm always at the fringes.
But yeah, no touchy. I get it.

I don't really have that choice, parking lots here are always packed and inside buildings.
